Home » Alpine

Private and exclusive, Alpine is one of the most affluent communities in the Garden State. Over the years, the borough has attracted many of the entertainment industry’s crème de la crème, turning Alpine into a hushed and beautiful celebrity enclave. It helps that Alpine is almost a stone’s throw away from the glittery world of Manhattan, just across the Hudson River. Some of the famous names who lived here include Eddie Murphy and Stevie Wonder.

Named after its striking similarity to the Swiss Alps, Alpine takes residents to scenic heights. A suburb of New York but part of Bergen County, Alpine spans over nine square miles and is home to roughly 1,760 people.

Points of interest

  • Alpine Lookout is one of three vantage points near Palisades Parkway, famed for its unique view of the Eastern New York skyline and mildly challenging terrain. The peaceful walkway is circled by lush foliage, fresh air, and plenty of seating.
  • Palisades Interstate Park is a mecca for outdoor lovers. The massive natural playground features over 30 miles of beautiful trails ranging from pleasant riparian strolls to uphill rock scrambles. You can also fish, boat, or kayak at the Hudson River.
  • Montammy Golf Club is a private country club where the local elite come to tee off. The full-service facility includes a Frank Duane-designed championship course, eight tennis courts, a swimming pool, athletic rooms, and a children’s play area.
